PG&E's energy comes from natural gas, nuclear, solar, hydroelectric, geothermal, wind, and biomass. Natural Gas is the largest source of electricity, providing 46% of PG&E's energy. Nuclear is the second largest source, making up 18%. Solar provides 12% of PG&E's electricity. Hydroelectric provides 8% of PG&E's electricity. Geothermal provides 7% of PG&E's electricity. Netmetering

NEM 2.0 Credited to customer's next bill at retail rate. After 12-month cycle, customer may opt to roll over credit indefinitely or to receive payment for credit at a rate equal to the 12-month average spot market price for the hours of 7 am to 5 pm for the year in which the surplus power was generated. (If customer makes no affirmative decision, credit is granted to utility with no compensation for customer.)
