Riverside Public Utilities (RPU) is a publicly-owned utility located in Riverside, California. The utility provides electric and water services to over 113,000 customers in the city of Riverside and surrounding areas. RPU's electric system includes 3,000 miles of overhead and underground lines, with a peak load of over 900 megawatts. The utility also operates six hydroelectric facilities, two solar facilities, and a landfill gas-to-energy facility, which collectively generate about 30% of the utility's energy. RPU's water system includes over 1,600 miles of water mains, 27 wells, and two treatment plants, which provide customers with safe and reliable water services. RPU is committed to providing sustainable and affordable energy and water solutions to its customers, while also investing in renewable energy and energy efficiency programs to reduce its carbon footprint.
