The utility operates four power plants, including two coal-fired plants, a natural gas-fired plant, and a landfill gas plant. The utility also operates a natural gas distribution system, which provides service to more than 108,000 customers in southwest Missouri. In addition, City Utilities of Springfield provides water and wastewater services to the Springfield area through its three treatment plants and more than 1,500 miles of water and sewer mains.
